slept most of the day and i’m going back to bed soon. all i ate today was this really good pizza — gourment chicken with creamy garlic sauce and tomatoes. plus i rubbed Vick’s vaporub all over myself.
i’ve decided to combat the virus with SMELL. bwwwwwhahahaha!

definitely more stuff here tomorrow, because i’m feeling better already.
thanks to The Count for his get-well-wishes. i know they helped.

ok, i’m going to stop fighting reality. i’m going to accept the fact that i’m running a temp and probably have some dreaded flu-bug invading my system. fuck! i hate getting sick.

unless i die from this in my sleep.

a visual musing regarding recent scientific developments. to be truthful, all of this “progress” scares me.

i’m awake waaaay too early, and i slept terribly last night. (causes: Agent J’s night time acrobatics, Tasha’s crack-of-dawn yowlings, and that !@#$%^&* telephone.) i can’t wait until my studio is finished and i can lock them all out. :)
i made some digital abstractions yesterday. one thing that i have noticed is that each image seems to have a sense of environment — almost a landscapish quality to them. that is very new for me in this format. makes me wonder what’s rollin’ around in my mind that i’m unaware of at the moment. maybe the recent road trip had an effect on my spatial perceptions.

i got back from the thanksgiving excursion yesterday. it went surprisingly well! it was great to spend time with everyone and no-one seemed to get on each other’s nerves too much. i think that my parents are getting mellower as they age. maybe i am, too.
a few observations:
~ my sister, Laura is much happier in her new job. you could see it all over her face. she is a lot more relaxed now.
~ brother-in-law, Galen, seems to be more comfortable around my family now. i think he’s finally accepted us in all of our weirdness. :) ~ nephew Eddie still seems to be growing! at 21, he is about 6′5″ and built like a truck! i just adore him — he is really a gentle, sweet spirit. he gave me a couple of big hugs and i could just feel the love pour out of him.
~ niece Jessica is beautiful as always and quite in love with her beau, Michael. she seems to be adjusting to college life well and is now considering a career in education. something tells me that choice will change a few times, though. she is a girl of many talents and interests.
~ Dad looks really good. he told me that he will be retiring in May, which is wonderful. to be perfectly honest, i hate the place that he works. they don’t appreciate everything that he does and he is constantly getting phonecalls after hours that require him to go back to work and pick up someone else’s slack. grrr. it’s always amazed me how he landed in a job situation that had the same dynamics as his family of origin. heh!
~ Mom is doing really well, too. she was so excited to have everyone there for the holiday — you could see it in her big brown eyes.
at one point during all of the hoopla i thought: gawd, how can she enjoy all of this commotion and hassle of putting on such a HUGE thanksgiving dinner? she absolutely thrives on it, though — she was tearin’ that kitchen up! i think i’ll send her a nice card this week to thank her for everything. she made the day so special for everyone. :)
so.. what the heck was i worried about regarding this trip? talk about the power of old tapes playing in my head, sheesh. then again, as nice as it was, i am still glad we are staying home for christmas. i wouldn’t want to push my luck!
