Friday’s Feast… late as usual.

Appetizer:
Who is the easiest person for you to talk to?

It depends on the subject matter. Jerry about most things; JL about a lot of other things. And Dr. K. listens to what those two can’t handle.

I have to say, those are the three people in the world that know me the best – it would be a scary thing if they co-authored a book about me someday.

Soup:
If you could live in any ancient city during the height of the quality of its society and culture, which one would you choose?

Oh, I guess ancient Rome would have been alright. Art, music, philosophy, crazy sex and all forms of decadence running rampant. Why, that’s a hedonist’s dream!

Salad:
What is the most exciting event you’ve ever witnessed?

Living beings coming into the world. I can’t think of anything more exciting than birth.

Main Course:
If you were a celebrity, what would you do for a publicity stunt?

*COOTER FLASH!*

Only I’d hold a big hairy wig between my naked thighs just to freak people out. I think that would make the headlines! HAhaha!

Dessert:
What do you consider the ideal age to have a first child?

It’s definitely not a chronological age thing.

I think that the ideal age to have a child is when you are mature enough to put your own needs on the back burner and make raising a responsible, healthy human being your top priority for the next 20 years.

If you can’t do that, you’re not ready and you need to keep your pants on, cha-cha.

*********

Any big plans for the weekend? Meh. None for me. Leave a note in the comments and tell me what exciting things you are up to… I shall live vicariously through your wild adventures!

More again soon, kittens.

Introducing The Daydream Necklace — possibly coming to a neckline near you!

daydreamfull.jpg

daydreamdetail2.jpg

The seasons are starting to change; the days are getting shorter, the light is growing more subtle. However, you can carry a bright summer day with you throughout the year with this necklace. (Of course, you already carry that memory in your heart, but sometimes having a little trinket to hold and admire makes the memories even sweeter.)

This necklace is very simple in design elements yet there is much to admire and ponder. From left to right: an ultra sparkle-y faceted white zircon briolette, an oval coin pearl with a tiny peach freshwater pearl to keep it company, a sky blue amazonite focal bead (including fluffy clouds!), a little pink dove for peace, and another small, faceted amazonite bead of a more intense shade of blue — just because.

All of the trinkets are attached to a sterling silver twist ring, which looks much more delicate than it really is. That’s a really cool thing about silver: the more you work it, the stronger it gets!

The vegan-friendly microsuede lace was then fastened with a larks head knot, passed through a sterling silver bead and tied off on the ends. It’s about 24 inches long and totally adjustable to suite the wearer.

Pretty cool! Pretty pretty.

I’ll be listing this and more goodies later tonight in my shop so if you are interested you can check out the purchasing details there.

I hope you’re having a good day, my friends. I’ll write again soon.

Just singing a song.

August 29, 2007 | 2 Comments

I found this on my friend Shadowmuse’s website this morning and I wanted to share it with you. Not only is Nessun Dorma one of my favorite pieces of music, watching and listening to this “average guy” sing it thrilled my heart.

I hope you find your own bit of victory in the world today.

Late night Mambo…

August 27, 2007 | 1 Comment

This arrived this morning from the home office in Mamboville…

Hello everyone! Another Monday is here. Today is Compassion Day. Follow these steps for a very compassionate Mambo…

1. Choose someone you know to whom you’d like to dedicate a song.

I would like to dedicate this song to all of the past, present and future members of The Midnight Ladies Club – and you know who you are.

2. Choose a song to represent your compassion toward that person.

Skylark - Wildflower

3. Explain a little about why you chose the song, if you wish.

I chose this song because the members of this select group are incredible, rare women who have struggled through crushing trials of the heart. They truly deserved more than they were given. Fortunately, just like wildflowers, they are resilient – they continue to flourish and beautify the world.

Beyond the Mambo, there is an eclectic mix other songs I have been lovin’ this week:

Four Tops – It’s the Same Old Song

Sweet – Fox On The Run

Troggs – Love Is All Around

Thunderclap Newman – Something in the Air

Ray LaMontagne – You Can Bring Me Flowers

Robbie Fulks – You Wouldn’t Do That to Me

Molly Hatchet – Flirtin’ With Disaster

Larry Graham – One In A Million You

Itzhak Perlman – Por Una Cabeza

Phil Collins – Easy Lover

Eagles – One of These Nights

Fiona Apple – Get Gone

Ani DiFranco – Untouchable Face

Robbie Williams – Lovelight

Supertramp – It’s Raining Again

Friends of Distinction – Grazing In The Grass

Gary Puckett & The Union Gap – Lady Willpower

That’s it for the Mambo this week, kittens. I hope your Monday was great and that your Tuesday is even better!

Two trees.

August 25, 2007 | 2 Comments

A small tree begins to grow between them, and the beech says to the birch, “Is that a son of a beech or a son of a birch?” The birch says he cannot tell.

Just then a woodpecker lands on the sapling. The birch says, “Woodpecker, you are a tree expert. Can you tell if that is a son of a beech or a son of a birch?”

The woodpecker takes a taste of the small tree. He replies, “It is neither a son of a beech nor a son of a birch. It is, however, the best piece of ash I have ever put my pecker in.”

Hehehe! Wipe that smile off your face…

(Thanks to my dear friend Betty for that one!)
