I wish I could think of some profound insight regarding this one, but I’m stumped. I really, really like it though. It’s just that sometimes the meaning of the image doesn’t always reveal itself right away. Many times it never does, and those are usually the works I admire most.
The meeting with the SheShrink went a little better this time. At least she didn’t look at my chart again and ask “So, how is group therapy going with Dr. WhatsHisName?” when it was obvious to anyone who could read English that I haven’t seen that doctor since 1994.
(I tell you, if there’s anything I can’t tolerate its incompetence.)
Anyway, we upped the dosage, I got my prescription, and I left without scheduling a follow-up appointment.
Done and done.
(Just like February. Ack!)

Got something to say?

Well I see it as a statement of coming out of depression. The dancer is your spirit, rising above the brown dirt, the blackbirds, which can signify death are flying away or subdued and perched low in the grasses, the wind is blowing all the bad away into a blue (healing) horizon.

I don’t think art should always be “profound.” I think as long as it makes you look and want to keep looking, it’s done its job. I too really, really like this one.
Le Danse Macabre — she’s dancing with the harbinger’s of death.
But then again, that’s likely just my interpretation due to other matters in my life. Only you would know what it means to you…
