Friday’s Feast…
November 30, 2007
Appetizer:
What is your favorite carnival/amusement park ride?
I have always *loved* the Ferris Wheel.
Once when I was a kid, my mom took my older sister Laura and I on it – and the guy who was running the ride stopped us at the top and kept us there for a few minutes. My mom was totally freaking out, but my sister and I thought it was awesome.
I guess when you’re under the age of ten, the terror of having your safety in the hands of a carnie worker never crosses your mind. Hahaha.
Soup:
How do you react in uncomfortable social situations?
I have a few reactions and they are dependent on my anxiety level at the moment.
1. If it’s with people I don’t know, I usually get very quiet and observe what is happening.
2. If the situation involves people I love and care about, I usually try to lighten the mood if I can or ask gentle questions to try and understand what is going on.
3. If it’s an intense situation, I go to my Happy Place. (Seriously, and not cool.)
Salad:
On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being highest, how much do you enjoy discussing deep, philosophical topics?
About an 8 or 9, I’d say. I thoroughly enjoy conversations like that and it’s a rare thing to find someone else who likes it just as much. It involves a lot of exposure and personal vulnerability.
Uh. Heh. That kind of makes it like sex, doesn’t it? Brain sex.
Main Course:
Did you get a flu shot this year? If not, do you plan to?
Gawd NO. I’m one of those people who end up in the emergency room with severe reactions to flu shots. Falling down dizzy and stuff shooting out both ends.
However, if you can tolerate the shot, please get one. You’ll be keeping yourself and other people healthier this season.
Dessert:
Approximately how many hours per week do you spend watching television?
It’s on a lot in the background when I am working so I can listen to the news. Actually watching it? I’d estimate about 2 hours a day, so 14 hours a week.
(Damn! That’s like a part-time job.)
Happy Friday everyone! Hope you’re not freezing it off somewhere. It’s cold here with a chance of the four-letter-word that rhymes with NOOOOOOoooo.

And I thought I was being so original with the Ferris Wheel! I figured everyone else would pick something dramatic like the roller coaster.
Love the art in the flickr area, will have to go check out those kaleidescope images.
Whenever the fair used to come to town, we’d call the first night death night as the rides were cheaper and we’d say it was because they hadn’t been tested so you could die, which made it all the more exciting as kids!
LOL, thanks for the chuckle!
The prettiest ferris wheel ride I’ve ever been on was in Prince Edward Island. It overlooks the ocean and they had some beautiful sunsets!
