Late Night Hodgepodge
September 29, 2002
There are so many things going on at the moment that this entry will probably seem to be a jumble of unrelated crap. Ah, well. Welcome to my brain, folks.
It?s been a pretty relaxing day for the most part, which is a bit unusual around here for a Sunday. Agent J is notorious for dawn until dusk, non-stop home improvement and chores behavior on this day of the week. He tries to get as much done as he can before the start of his workweek. It drives me bonkers sometimes, but it would drive him even more so just to let stuff slide, so I put up with it. The reason things were different today is because he is taking tomorrow and Tuesday off from work.
In other words, Tuesday will be bonkers day this week. Heh.
Tomorrow we are going for a daytrip over the river to Galena, Illinois. It?s an artsy little town about 15 miles from here; the main street is filled with nice galleries and interesting places to shop, so it should be lots of fun nosing around for a few hours. There is also a fantastic winery there and they let you sample as much of the stuff as you like. That?s always J?s favorite place to go while we?re there and he usually ends up buying a few bottles of their award-winning Beaujolais.
I?ll try to get a picture of him so you can see the how pretty and pink his nose gets when he?s buzzed. The lush.
We are also going to drive around the Galena Territories and look at some of the beautiful countryside. I *promise* you pictures of that!
I stayed up waaaaaay too late last night learning to use the FTP client that I have installed. But I feel like I am making progress! At least I understand what most of the geek terminology means now, and I successfully uploaded and downloaded a file from my site. I think I?m going to have to find a different web host than DotEasy, though — one with more customer support. I?m looking into DreamHost right now. Does anyone know anything good or bad about that company? Do you have another reliable host you can recommend? Please let me know if you do.
Thanks to all who have offered to help me figure this stuff out, too. I?m probably going to take you up on your offers someday soon, so be sure to stock up on aspirin in advance. Just a fair warning!
You know, I never did find anymore of my embroidery supplies last week. But I did go out and get everything I need to start a new project and I?ve been happily stitching for an hour or so each night. I had forgotten how much I love to do this! It has been very relaxing and I picked up on my rhythm again naturally, even though I haven?t stitched in years. Here is a photo of the sampler that I am working on. I really like the design; especially the satin-stitched border.

Alrighta. I should get to bed and snooze. I have to be completely rested before we go off on our adventure. Afterall, tomorrow isn?t Monday? it?s ?Funday!? (this according to Agent J. and he never fibs about his fun.)
More later, friends. Thanks for dropping by for a visit. ![]()
