Monday MamBOOOOO! #71
October 31, 2005

This message just in from the spooky, bat-filled belfry of the home office in Mamboville…
Happy Halloween, mamboers! We trick or treat for candy on this night, but why can’t we trick or treat for music too? Someone should make a holiday for that! Today’s mambo is full of treats, and hopefully no tricks. Put on your costumes and mambo!
1. Make your own musical candy bar! What do I mean by that? Well, you do that by using musicians, bands, instruments, genres - anything related to music - that have tastes and flavors you want in your candy bar. Examples include something sweet (obviously), something nutty, something sticky, something gooey, something crunchy, etc.
Sweet…
Def Leppard – Pour Some Sugar on Me
Minnie Riperton – Lovin’ You
*Caution: May induce diabetic coma.* ![]()
Crunchy (because of the beat!)…
Gin Blossoms – Found Out About You
Nutty…
Henry Mancini and his Orchestra – The Peanuts Theme
Sticky…
2. What musician would you want to dress up as for trick or treating?

A big ol’ bloated ghost of Elvis, covered with rhinestones… and with toilet paper stuck on the bottom of my shoe. (I know… that’s just so wrong. Heh.)
Elvis Presley – A Little Less Conversation
Elvis Presley – Devil In Disguise
3. What bands or musicians scare you the most?
Marilyn Manson – because he’s a pasty white creep.
Michael Jackson because he’s a pasty white child molesting creep.
And these two little racist twats — and their mama.
4. Instead of candy, you’ve decided to give out music to trick or treaters! What are some of the artists or albums you’re giving out?
Warren Zevon – Werewolves of London
Danny Elfman – This is Halloween!
As always, the music links stay hot for a week. Have a safe and happy Halloween — don’t let the boogie man get you!

PS. A special thank you to The Count for the song by “Tricky”! He turned me on to them last week and now I can’t get enough of their music. Good stuff indeed.

Had to drop by and say BOOOO to my favorite wild child :clown: For the record, I’d be Janis Joplin…I did her at a Stunt night in high school, remember Count???

yanno, I always thought the Muskrat Love couple did the song you have by Minnie Ripperton. Love the song except when she takes it up to that chalkboard scratching howl. Lordy what memories. I really am gettin old.

Hey now… That Minnie Ripperton song was almost our wedding song.
As I often heard my daddy say “Almost don’t count!”
